Christ First

In yesterday's sermon (here), I made the statement that I "talk to every person in my family more than I talk to God". This was an honest, sobering indictment on my prayer life. Do I pray? Yes. Often? Yes. As a Pastor, I am charged with praying for the sheep of the congregation. Do I? Yes. Often? Yes, but I need to more.

This statement was made as we discussed that a gospel-centered family always puts Christ first. We must...we have to constantly put Christ above everyone else in our family because that is what glorifies Christ, but that is also is what is best for each of those family members. Putting Christ first is not in competition with the good of family...they are the best of complements.

Let's pray more. But more than that...let's put in word, prayer, deed, decision, motivation...in everything...let's put Christ first.
