Every night before Micah goes to bed, we have prayer together, Christie, myself and Micah...sometimes with Lydia, although usually she is asleep. Last night as we prayed, we asked Micah one of our usual questions:
"Micah, who do we talk to when we pray".
He usually answers, "God".
Last night we asked, and after he said "God", he said, "Where is He?". We did our best to put a lot of Biblical truth on a 2 1/2 year-olds level...then He asked another question, "What's He do?" My heart rejoiced that he was asking questions, but I also realized that for the very first time, He was asking us questions, and we were responsible for pointing Him to God. I know it will be like this for many years to come...I was just sobered that on Father's Day of all days, He was asking me, along with Christie about the first few initial things of God. I pray God puts faith in his little heart...
BY THE WAY, I thought it was too early to get into the finer points of Reformed Theology last night...perhaps next time?
