Ugandan Reflections-The Material...

The average worker in Uganda (blue-collar) makes somewhere around $2-6 dollars per day I've heard....that is nothing to us and yet there is a level of contentment and simplicity among so many there. Christie and I have been trying to live intentionally, frugally and simply even before Uganda, however, I wonder if part of our reflections need to not only include "those poor people around us, and in poorer countries don't have, so we should give more way", but also "how much do I need to spend on myself when spending on myself and consuming the world's goods speaks to my own view of my importance..." In other words, the more we spend on ourselves, the more we are potentially saying "I'm worth it..."

Don't have it all together, not perfect, but trying to increase my sensitivity to how the material and spiritual connect...
