Flat Tires, ERs & Lessons from God...

Well, Monday started well...leaving the house for the church...flat tire...of course you can't buy just one, so two new tires later (cheapest ones!) and the car is fixed. This morning, watching the kids early so Christie would take one of the foster care children to an appointment, and Micah jumps and gashes his head on our futon...immediately after I picked him up as he was crying I saw the gushing blood and quickly thereafter I knew we were headed for the ER...he is doing well, and was so brave...on top of all that, Christie ended up missing the scheduled appointment due to traffic.

This week hasn't started off the way I thought, but in it all, I think I am learning that my agenda is not what matters, but God's...as I sat in the ER holding both Micah and Lydia in my arms, both quiet for a few moments, I reflected on how I had just a day earlier thought of needing to spend some time with them...not what i had in mind, but there they both were...in my arms, trusting me..loving me...and taking safety in me being their dad...not what I had planned, but a sweet moment (albeit also heartbreaking as I knew Micah had a boo-boo)...

How is God speaking to you this week?
