Yesterday's Festivities

So, yesterday was a blast...the usuals- getting up early with Christie- getting our parts ready (Christie doing the skillful work, me, the Sous Chef/table mover). We set up tables, watched the parade (Micah was glued to it), built a fire for the Turkey smoker, set up the football field for the post food game, and then scurried to finish by 1PM when the family and friends arrived.

The food was great, lots of folks here, family and a family from church...the football game was excellent (my team lost to my brother's team as usual, but the score was closer!), and Micah is still walking around with the football...yesterday he got to play...and even got briefly injured by a punted football...

The family from church brought joy to the festivities and the football game...

We love having our house used by folks, and seeing the house full of family, friends, eaters and the like. Every year we like to have both sides of our family here, and we also like to have guests with us...

God is good...so good, and I don't deserve His goodness...thankfully, my standing is in Another, Who stands in my place...
