In Uganda w/ Virginia on my Mind...

We are about to start our second week of teaching in Uganda tomorrow-week one went well, and the students are learning. Today, each of the four of us went to different churches to preach and we had the opportunity to have lunch one on one w/ the pastors of those churches. What a blessing to hear from them, and to seek to encourage them, particularly w/ resources. Pray for Huntington, a pastor who works bi-vocationally and has a vision for his church to be a church in love w/ Jesus-pray for his current lack of solid resources for sermon prep as well. Some other hightlights: -talking the gospel over w/ various people -eating rabbit (that I had seen alive earlier in the day) -visiting the Equator and standing on both sides simultaneously -pointing a Uganda pastor to free online theological resources such as desiringgod.org -fellowshipping with another missionary to Uganda from the northern region and being encouraged by him and seeking to encourage him -Seeing my Biblical Interpretation students really grasp interpreting a passage and finding Christ within it I have enjoyed being here, I really do enjoy Uganda-however, it has been hard as a dear saint in our church back home died this past weekend and another dear lady is very sick. It has been a challenge for me as I wish I could be there, and yet I am so encouraged by how our church and fellow elders are taking care of the needs within the body. It is good for me to see the church in action from afar. I will miss this dear saint, Edith and I pray for Marie, yet I cling to the glorious gospel of our Lord-
